PHOTOGRAPHER, ARTIST and SELF-DESCRIBED IMPERFECT PERSON
Leah is a devoted wife and mother, plus an authentic beach town local of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Her 3 grown sons, a young teen daughter, a multitude of pets and houseplants are her source of inspiration.
Portrait photography was her first creative endeavor and her personality was perfectly suited for working closely with her clients. They hailed her talent for making them feel comfortable in front of a camera and they very much appreciated her “magical” skills in Photoshop.
After dedicating herself to portraiture photography for several years, she closed her business to focus on homeschooling her daughter.
While preparing to teach an art class at their home-school co-op, she became acquainted with a whole slew of art mediums. Her family is accustomed to her spontaneity, so when her 3rd son moved out, it gave her the opportunity to set up a proper art studio in her home.
Currently, the studio art shelves are lined with a vibrant array of colorful alcohol ink.
The strange nature of the inks, as they swirl across a smooth surface, might quickly frustrate some, but Leah finds therapeutic value in controlling the inks while accepting that they can’t be fully tamed.
For her, the unique and versatile qualities of these inks, mirror the complexity of life.
Beautiful and imperfect. SEE SOME OF HER WORK IN OUR SHOP
